Rennes have signed midfielder Adrien Thomasson (32) on a three-year deal, the Ligue 1 side has announced. The 32-year-old was one of Ligue 1’s most coveted free agents upon the expiry of his contract with RC Lens. The former Nantes and Strasbourg midfielder was one of Lens’ standout players this campaign, capped off with Les Sang et Or’s maiden Coupe de France title.

Thomasson will reunite with several of his former Lens teammates the likes of Brice Samba, Przemysław Frankowski and Seko Fofana. He’ll also link up with his former Lens head coach Franck Haise. Thomasson has signed a three-year deal with the Bretons, who will feature in the Europa League group stage next season.
