Official: Roma announce Tony D’Amico’s appointment | OneFootball

The Tony D’Amico era at Roma has officially begun.

After days of work to free him from Atalanta, the sporting director has signed with the Giallorossi.

The club announced the news in a statement on its website: “AS Roma is pleased to announce that Tony D’Amico will take over as the Club’s Sporting Director, effective July 1st. This season, the role of Sporting Director will be held on an interim basis by Maurizio Lombardo. D’Amico arrives in Rome after four successful seasons with Atalanta. The club wishes Tony all the best in this new adventure with our club! Welcome to Rome!”

D’Amico will officially begin working with Roma on July 1st, with a contract running until 2028, with an option to extend it to 2029, worth €1.5 million per season.

As announced by the club, Maurizio Lombardo, a certified sporting director, will replace him on an interim basis, along with Jason Morrow, the club’s CFO.
