Official: Schalke 04 extend contract of talented midfielder Luca Vozar | OneFootball

FC Schalke 04 have officially announced the extension Luca Vozar's contract this afternoon, Thursday 17 September.

The highly rated 19-year-old talent has subsequently signed a new deal with the Gelsenkirchen club until 2029.

Vozar made his Bundesliga debut in their 0-0 draw with FC Bayern, coming on as a substitute for Dejan Ljubicic in the 74th-minute.

Those in charge of the Royal Blues clearly value the young midfielder's potential and did everything they could to keep him long term.

Vozar came through the youth ranks at Schalke and last season, he even also captained the club's U-19 squad.

“Luca Vozar is a wonderful example of how we develop talent from the Schalke youth academy," said director of football Youri Mulder.

"Vitalie Becker and Mertcan Ayhan made the jump to the first team last season, and now Luca has joined us this summer.

"He impresses with his technical skills and excellent game intelligence. He also delivers precise set pieces and is a powerful finisher with his left foot.

We will work together on his development and provide him with targeted support. Everyone on the team likes Luca," Mulder added.
