Sébastien Pocognoli has been named AS Monaco manager, following the sacking of Adi Hutter. The Belgian has signed a two-year deal with the Principality club, which ties him to the club until 2027.

Pocognoli leaves Union Saint-Gilloise, having led the club to the Belgian title in his first season with the club. This season, he led the club in the UEFA Champions League, but has now left mid-season to join Monaco, who paid the €1m release clause included in the Belgian’s deal at USG.

He joins Les Monégasques with the club currently sitting fifth in Ligue 1, just three points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. In the Champions League, the club have just one point after their first two games, having lost against Club Brugge (4-1) before drawing 2-2 against Manchester City last time out.

Pocognoli’s deal runs until the end of the 2026/27 season and becomes the second Belgian to manage Monaco, after Philippe Clement. He is joined by assistants Artur Kopyt and Kevin Mirallas.
