Official: Sevilla announce deal for Real Madrid youngster | OneFootball

Sevilla FC have announced a deal for a member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga rivals Real Madrid. The player to have made the call to continue his career in Nervión? Fran González.

Fran, for his part, is a 21-year-old shot-stopper, who has long been held in high regard in Madrid and across Spain alike. This past season, he was a regular feature in Real’s first-team setup, sitting behind Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin in the pecking order between the posts.

Aware that a move away from the Bernabéu would be required to ramp up his development, though, Fran had for some time now been linked with a summer transfer.

And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, precisely as much has come to fruition for the talented goalkeeper.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Sevilla:

‘Sevilla FC and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Francisco Javier González Pérez (León, June 24, 2005) until June 2031, a five-year contract.’

Sevilla are understood to have forked out around €3 million to secure 50% of Fran’s playing rights for the next five seasons.
