Lille OSC have officially announced the signing of Tanguy Nianzou (24) from Sevilla on a two-year contract, with an option for an extra year.
Les Dogues pounced on the former France youth international, with the club in need of reinforcements in the centre of defence following the departure of Aissa Mandi (34), who was a near ever-present figure last season, as well as Chancel Mbemba (31).
Nianzou, however, arrives with a troubling injury record. Seven years after making his debut with Paris Saint-Germain, the former France youth international has struggled to stay on the pitch, making just 103 appearances across his time with PSG, Bayern Munich, and Sevilla.
The majority of these appearances came during his time with Sevilla, which he joined in 2022 in a move reported to be worth €16m. Across four seasons, Nianzou played 62 games for the Spanish club. The hope will be that after years of setbacks, a return to Ligue 1 will prove to be a fresh start.
