Adam Daghim’s €14.5 transfer to Hoffenheim has been officially confirmed. Get German Football News reported on Friday that Hoffenheim were closing in on an agreement to sign Daghim following prolonged negotiations with RB Salzburg.

Kicker reports that Hoffenheim are paying an initial base transfer fee of €13m. Performance-related bonuses could increase the total package by another €1.5m to approximately €14.5m.

Daghim immediately returns to the Bundesliga

Daghim is expected to fill the attacking vacancy created by Bazoumana Touré’s departure. Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker identified the former Wolfsburg loanee as the club’s preferred target for the role.

The 1.89-metre left-footed attacker operated primarily on the right wing during his loan spell with Wolfsburg last season. He can also feature on the opposite flank or as a centre-forward.

Daghim made 30 competitive appearances for Wolfsburg, contributing two goals and one assist as the Lower Saxony club suffered relegation from the Bundesliga.

Statements on Daghim’s signing

“Adam is a young and talented player,” Schicker noted in Hoffenheim’s official club statement. “With his abilities and tremendous pace, he was our clear preferred option for the profile we were seeking. 

“At just 20 years of age, he possesses great developmental potential,” Schicker continued. “He also knows the Bundesliga from his spell with Wolfsburg last season.”

“I made the decision to join TSG very consciously,” the player himself added. “I cannot wait to establish myself quickly within the team.”
