Oliver Glasner is confident Nottingham Forest can cope without Elliot Anderson this season and has outlined a focused plan for the final stretch of the window.

According to Nottingham Post, Forest have added Xaver Schlager and explored another midfielder, though that is not a priority with Ibrahim Sangare, Nicolas Dominguez and Ryan Yates in place, and James McAtee used deeper in pre-season.

Anderson joined Manchester City last month, leaving a gap in central midfield. Glasner believes others can step up and pointed to his time at Palace, when Michael Olise departed before they won two trophies. Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi then left in winter and the team went on to win the Conference League.

Forest have made three signings so far this summer, with defender Ousmane Diomande and goalkeeper Steven Benda joining Schlager. A striker and a right-back are on the agenda before the September one deadline.

Glasner said he is very confident of adding one or two more players, and not more. Targets are identified and the focus is on completing the deals.

He said alternatives with the same profile are ready if talks stall, working from a ranking that starts with a top target. He remains confident of securing two high-quality additions before the window shuts, stressing quality over numbers. He also said last season left few at the club satisfied and called for greater consistency with the clear aim of a better campaign.
