Nottingham Forest have begun a new era under Oliver Glasner, who has set a people first agenda and stressed unity from day one.

According to Nottingham Post, his first club interview with David Prutton set out an identity built on togetherness and trust, with people, not facilities, at the core.

He wants players to feel free to try things, not fear mistakes, and to be clear about their roles.

The 51-year-old said he cannot do it alone and that staff, players, leadership and supporters together can make Forest really competitive in the Premier League.

He must wait a little over a month to meet the City Ground crowd, with the season opener at home to Leeds United on August 22.

For now he is focused on the squad, aiming to understand them as people after facing many of them as an opponent.

Day one at the Nigel Doughty Academy brought warm greetings for staff and an embrace for Morgan Gibbs-White, echoing the caring reputation he forged at Selhurst Park.

Glasner reiterated that people outweigh buildings, arguing that strong relationships underpin success and enjoyment across long days at the training ground.

He praised predecessor Vitor Pereira and quickly set standards, asking returning internationals to report slightly earlier and putting early arrivals through testing.

Respect underpins his approach, and he appealed to fans, saying their backing can matter most when times are tough.
