Olivier Giroud began his 22nd professional season with an assist as Lille lost 1-2 to Union Saint-Gilloise on Saturday. According to L'Équipe, he turns 40 on 30 September and this campaign is likely to be his last.

In Ostend, he led the line for 62 minutes. He set up Gaëtan Perrin. With Saad Boussadia sent off in the 37th minute, Giroud saw little of the ball.
