Leeds United Under-21s regular Ollie Pickles spoke of his delight after signing a first ever professional contract with the club.
Last term’s U18s skipper has become a regular in Scott Gardner’s side so far this campaign, featuring in every match in what has been a promising start to the new season, leaving the midfielder pleased with his progress on the pitch.
“It is excellent,” the 17-year-old began, discussing what it means to him to extend his stay at Thorp Arch.
“I think it is my 11th year now at the club so to finally put pen to paper, yeah, I am buzzing with it. I wouldn’t want to sign for any other club. I wouldn’t want to play for any other club right now. It is my home.
“I think I have properly engaged with all the coaching that they have given us and I feel like I have implemented that into my game.
“Each match, I am looking to improve and in every training session and I think I am doing just that and hopefully going in the right direction.
“I have started every game this season and I feel like with all the training that I am doing, I must be doing something right.
“For this season, I just want to play as much as I can and be the best player I can be by pushing myself and testing myself.”
