Al-Hilal have signed England striker Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa on a three-year contract. The club said in a statement that the agreement was finalised by the board, chaired by His Highness Prince Nawaf bin Saad, and completed at Almajdiah Sport Hub on Sunday evening.

The board expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal for sponsoring the transfer, thanking him for his constant backing, ongoing contributions and efforts to boost the club’s competitiveness and meet fans’ aspirations.

Watkins, 30, began his professional career at Exeter City before moving to Brentford, where he played until 2020. He was named the Championship’s Player of the Year, then joined Aston Villa that same year.

At Villa he featured in domestic and European competitions, contributing to the club’s Europa League triumph in 2025/26, the first trophy of his professional career.

Internationally, he made his England debut in 2021 and has earned 24 caps, scoring seven goals. He represented the national team at UEFA Euro 2024 and the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Watkins is expected to join Al-Hilal training this evening as they prepare to face Al-Ahli next Tuesday in the Roshn Saudi League.
