Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is set to receive a salary increase when he completes a loan move to Trabzonspor.
The two teams have agreed a deal that will see Onana move to the Turkish Süper Lig on a season-long loan deal.
Manchester United had deemed Onana surplus to requirements, following the signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day. The move to Turkey will bring an end to Onana’s time with the Red Devils after two error-prone seasons at Old Trafford.
Onana is set to approve the move to Turkey and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Cameroonian will receive a salary increase as a result. Trabzonspor will cover the 29-year-old’s current wages, alongside the addition of bonuses and a signing-on fee.
The goalkeeper was keen to ensure a regular first-team role ahead of this winter’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament will take place between 21 December 2025 and 18 January 2026, with Onana’s Cameroon drawn to face Ivory Coast, Gabon and Mozambique in the group stage.
