In the excitement of the win over Fulham on Saturday and the subsequent transfer chaos involving Liam Delap’s hamstring and Nicolas Jackson’s pending move to Bayern Munich, as well as the deadline closing in this evening, it’s all rather been forgotten that Chelsea actually did complete a move last weekend.

After weeks of back and forth, Alejandro Garnacho has his dream move to Chelsea. In an introductory chat with the club website, he went into detail about the photos of him as a youngster in the 2017 Blues’ training kit that did the rounds this week:
“I loved Eden Hazard. Eden was one of my idols and a big reason why I watched and supported Chelsea a bit when I was younger,” Garnacho said.
“He was such an incredible player, playing in the same position that I wanted to, coming inside, scoring goals – he was crazy good.”
But Eden was the only Chelsea E who helped sign Garnacho. The Argentine explained that his friend and countryman Enzo Fernandez had done some work persuading him to join the Blues too:
“I spoke to Enzo during the summer because he had been asking a lot of times, ‘When are you coming? When are you coming?’
“I kept saying that he had to be patient, and we would play together. He texted me when I joined to say congratulations, and I can’t wait to see him and play together. I had to be patient too, but now I can’t wait to get started.”
Lots of Blues fans aren’t super enthused with the idea of Garnacho – now he’s here, we’re all behind him and want to see what he can do for us on the pitch.
