Liverpool are targeting a move for ‘one of the best’ around as they aim to boost their squad.
TuttoJuve reports that Liverpool are chasing a big-money move for one Juventus star this summer. It comes at a time when the Reds face major decisions at centre-back.
Ibrahima Konate's impending contract expiry hasn't been sorted. It means Liverpool are in the market for a senior option to replace the Frenchman as things stand.
And Pierre Kalulu is a name that refuses to go away. The report here claims Liverpool feel he's 'one of the best' possible options at centre-back right now and is on their shortlist for a summer move.
Kalulu is described as an 'absolute priority' for the transfer window. Though, we do imagine things change if Konate signs a new contract - Liverpool just need to operate on the idea that he won't.
The Juventus star may end up being a Red this summer, then. A name to keep in mind, undoubtedly.
Juventus Performance and Stats
As of 8 May 2026, Pierre Kalulu has established himself as a versatile cornerstone of the Juventus backline following his permanent €15 million move from AC Milan last summer. The 25-year-old has made 46 appearances this season, contributing two goals and seven assists—a prolific return for a defender. He recently played the full 90 minutes in a 1–1 draw against Hellas Verona on 3 May and a 0–0 draw against his former club, Milan, on 26 April. Currently maintaining a FotMob rating of 7.26, Kalulu has been a reliable fixture in Thiago Motta’s defensive unit, providing cover at both centre-back and right-back.
Transfer Speculation
Kalulu’s impressive form has triggered significant interest from the Premier League. Reports from early May indicate that Liverpool and Manchester United are prepared to enter a bidding war for the Frenchman. Juventus have reportedly slapped a €40 million (£34.5 million) price tag on the defender, despite his contract running through to 2029. Liverpool view his age and tactical flexibility as ideal for their defensive rebuild.
International Standing
Having earned a senior recall for France’s US tour in March, Kalulu is firmly in Didier Deschamps’ plans for the 2026 World Cup this June. His ability to slot into multiple defensive roles makes him a highly valued asset for the star-studded French squad heading to North America.
