So what are the burning questions ahead of day seven? Let's find out.

What games are on today?

Portugal v DR Congo

Portugal have been widely tipped by many people to win their first ever World Cup and they finally get their chance to show the rest of us exactly why.

Cristiano Ronaldo enters the tournament in what's almost certainly his last ever finals and will start alongside talents such as Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes and Vitinha.

Our prediction: Portugal 3-0 DR Congo

England v Croatia

You can make a fairly sound argument for Harry Kane being the best player in the world right now with the England man coming in this tournament off the back of a truly remarkable 12 months for club side Bayern Munich.

Can the Three Lions greatest ever goalscorer lead his nation to a second star? The journey starts against Croatia.

Our prediction: England 1-1 Croatia

Ghana v Panama

Group L's other sides get their campaigns underway in Toronto and we should expect this one to be a cagey affair.

Ghana breezed through a relatively easy qualifying group to be here but sacked coach Otto Addo just a few months ago and now pin their tactical hopes on Carlos Queiroz.

Panama meanwhile topped their final round of qualifying with three wins and three draws and will want to keep things tight in their bid to get into the knockout rounds.

Our prediction: Ghana 0-0 Panama

Uzbekistan v Colombia

Uzbekistan play their first ever World Cup match later as they face Colombia in Mexico City.

Coached by World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro, the Uzbeks boast one of the game's best defenders in Abdukodir Khusanov.

Colombia meanwhile finished third in CONMEBOL qualifying and in Luis Diaz have one of the world's finest wingers.

Anything other than a win for the South Americans will be a huge shock.

Our prediction: Uzbekistan 0-2 Colombia

Which player should I look out for?

Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise might say otherwise, but there's a case to be made that Harry Kane is the best player in the world coming into this tournament.

The England striker has taken his game to another level since joining Bayern Munich but there's a different pressure that comes with playing for your country.

If anyone can carry that burden though, it's Kane, who will have this entire team built around his particular set of skills.

With Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé all on the scoresheet already, we're backing Kane to keep pace with those goalscoring behemoths.

Can you give me one stat to impress my friends?

  1. Portugal are unbeaten in their four games against teams from sub-Saharan Africa (W3, D1) and have only ever lost twice to African opponents.
