According to El Correo, only Iñaki Williams’ 135 million release clause is publicly known at Athletic, the rest remain confidential.
The squad returns to Lezama today after a first rest day under Edin Terzic, preparing for Derio on Wednesday and Leioa on Saturday.
Andoni Gorosabel is sidelined with a right adductor issue, while Urko Izeta has joined Cádiz and Unai Gómez has left for Udinese, with further academy sales completed.
Williams renewed in August 2019 until 2028 with that 135 million figure, the only clause disclosed as the Uriarte administration no longer reveals exit prices. Ibaigane’s statements omit such numbers, agreed privately between club and player.
Of 28 first-team players, 24 have clauses. Three signed without one, Unai Simón, Unai Vencedor and Mikel Jauregizar.
Athletic’s unwritten stance is not to sell, departures happen only if a player asks to and the full clause is deposited with La Liga. Others leave via contract termination if surplus.
Income from exits will be detailed to members in October, but accounts will not show whether releases were met, topped or reduced. Gómez’s 2023 renewal cited performance-related variables, yet fees for his Udinese switch and for Izeta remain undisclosed.
Beyond Williams and the three without clauses, 24 players’ release terms are unknown. Some, including Vencedor, Agirrezabala and possibly Vesga, could depart, but Terzic will decide. Nico Williams’s deal to 2035 lifted his previous 58 million figure by more than 50 percent to roughly 90, without an exact number.
