Orel Mangala could leave Lyon soon amid salary squeeze | OneFootball

According to Le Progres, Orel Mangala could be transferred quickly, as he is not in Paulo Fonseca’s plans. Lyon are looking to trim their wage bill after a significant outlay on the midfielder.

He joined from Nottingham Forest in January 2024 on a paid loan worth €10 million. Lyon then triggered a €15 million option to buy.

Mangala has played only 28 matches for OL. He ruptured a cruciate ligament during a loan spell at Everton.

He is under contract until 2028. His €300,000 salary gives him no chance of staying in the current financial climate.

No potential destinations have been named. Clubs in England and Italy seem interested.
