Oriol Rey has forced his way back into Levante’s plans, stringing together three straight Primera División appearances after a long spell without minutes.
According to Superdeporte, the midfielder resisted advice from his camp to seek a move and chose to stay at the Ciutat de València to fight for his role.
After eight matches inactive, three of them unselected, he returned against Barça and has since logged 200 minutes, despite the various absences in midfield.
Rey was a cornerstone of last season’s promotion, amassing 3,237 minutes in 24/25 and earning a new deal to 2027, yet his top-flight involvement initially fell short of expectations.
After the win over Alavés, head coach Luís Castro counts on anyone who is involved, believes Rey knows what he must improve, and is working with him on those aspects. He admires part of Rey’s game from the first training session and wants another part to change, and the player is earning his space.
Feeling at home at a Levante that want to remain among the elite, Rey is intent on taking every opening to consolidate his place.
