Ørjan Nyland rejoins RB Leipzig to replace Péter Gulácsi | OneFootball

Ørjan Nyland has rejoined RB Leipzig on a contract to 2028, three years after his first spell. He arrives as replacement for Péter Gulácsi, who left for Villarreal yesterday after 11 years at the club.

The Norwegian goalkeeper returns as a free agent after his Sevilla deal expired. He made three appearances for Leipzig in 2022/23.

The 1.92m stopper also had spells with Ingolstadt and Aston Villa.

Maarten Vandevoordt is expected to be first choice, with Nyland providing competition following his successful World Cup campaign with Norway. The 35-year-old was among their top performers in a famous win over Brazil that set up a quarter-final berth.

He is due to take part in his first training session in Saalfelden on Tuesday morning.
