Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has responded to questions on whether the club will continue its spending spree in the current window.
This comes after two players were spotted training with the Soweto giants at Rand Stadium on Tuesday, sparking speculations about their status within the team.
Pirates have been active in the market, roping in a staggering 14 players, including Sipho Mbule, Oswin Appollis, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi and Kamogelo Sebelebele, among others.
Now, when quizzed about the new faces in the Bucs training, Ouaddou remained tight-lipped but acknowledged a club of Pirates’ magnitude would seize a feasible opportunity to bolster the squad.
“Every big club, if there is an opportunity to strengthen the team, of course the club will do it,” said the Moroccan mentor.
However, while he is aware the Sea Robbers would pounce on a perfect market opportunity, the Pirates boss says he is happy with the current players at his disposal.
“But for me as a coach, at the moment I am happy with what I have, with the players that I have and I think they are players that can definitely compete, and they are very ambitious,” Ouaddou added.
“So, at the moment I am happy with what I have.
Meanwhile, Pirates are set to lock horns with Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 final at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, 13 September.
