Sunderland could need to break their transfer record to land Osasuna winger Victor Munoz, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also interested. The club insist any deal must meet his release clause.

The Black Cats added wide players Nilson Angulo and Jocelin Ta Bi in January, from Anderlecht and Maccabi Netanya. Their starts on Wearside have been disrupted by injuries.

Munoz, 22, has six goals and five assists in 34 outings this season. His form earned a first Spain call-up and he scored on debut in a 3-0 friendly win over Serbia.

There have been reports of an initial £20m bid from Sunderland, then a proposal including striker Eliezer Mayenda, both unsuccessful. Real Madrid also hold a three-year buy-back after selling him to Osasuna last summer.

“We’re not listening, we’re sticking to the clause. Real Madrid have a three-year buy-back option that’s already agreed upon. What we’re doing is enjoying Víctor until the end of the season.” said sporting director Braulio Vazquez. He told AS.
