Granada v Castellón at Nuevo Los Cármenes drew 13,762, yet one supporter, Óscar Agut Fernández, was missing.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, he had followed CD Castellón for as long as he could remember. He met a woman from Granada, married, moved to Salobreña on the Granada coast, and the couple had two daughters.

Distance made him cherish every chance to see Castellón in person, and he had hoped to do so on Sunday. He could not.

A little over a month ago he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour, and he fought through the hardest days with his family. It was said that reaching the match was among his final wishes, perhaps to say farewell to that part of life called football, perhaps to feel the stadium’s emotion one more time.

He died on Friday and was cremated on Saturday. His ashes will be placed in three places where he was especially happy, his Castellón, Salobreña and Talaverilla, his grandparents’ village where he spent his childhood.

At the funeral in Granada, a CD Castellón albinegra shirt was laid on his coffin. In tribute, friends and family set off a traca and sang the club anthem, Pam, pam, orellut, for him one last time.
