The Danish frontman came off the bench with the score at 1-1 before producing a sensational solo finish to snatch the three points in the dying seconds at St. James' Park.

Osula surged down the right flank before cutting inside to curl a magnificent clincher past goalkeeper Senne Lammens in front of the Gallowgate End, sending the Magpies faithful wild.

The 22-year-old is nominated for the monthly prize along with Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest, Alex Iwobi of Fulham and Iliman Ndiaye of Everton.

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Aston Villa's John McGinn are also on the shortlist.
