As Marco Silva's Fulham battle it out in the race for European football, it is worth remembering their most historic season in UEFA competition.

In the 2009/10 season, the Cottagers progressed all the way to the final of the inaugural Europa League, eliminating some of the continent's biggest clubs, including Juventus, along the way.

On this day in 2010, Roy Hodgson's side overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit against the Serie A giants in the round of 16, winning 5-4 on aggregate, with Clint Dempsey's audacious 82nd-minute chip sealing the victory on a memorable night at Craven Cottage.

Fulham knocked out Bundesliga side Wolfsburg 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals but suffered ultimate heartbreak in Hamburg, losing 2-1 to Atlético Madrid in the final.

Can they qualify for Europe this season and maybe go one better next year?
