Painful defeat for Chivas Women against Pachuca

Chivas Women's team was the protagonist and could have gotten more out of their visit to the Hidalgo Stadium, but a lapse in concentration in the backcourt cost them a painful 2-1 defeat against Pachuca in Week 16 of the 2025 Apertura. The Rebaño is fifth in the table with 30 points.

Knowing that staying in the top four of the standings depended on themselves, Guadalajara took to the field at the 'Huracán' stadium to give it their all. From the start, Antonio Contreras' team created chances up front and managed to come back from a partial deficit on the scoreboard. A red card for double caution for the Tuzas opened up the possibility of controlling the pace of the game, and that's what they did.

In the second half, the tone was the same, with the Rojiblancas controlling the ball and taking advantage of the spaces behind. Unfortunately, they paid dearly for an isolated play, which resulted in the home team's second goal.

After a week of inactivity in the Liga MX Femenil due to FIFA fixtures, the Rebaño will close out the AP25 Regular Season at home, hosting Necaxa for Matchday 17 on Friday, October 31, at 5 p.m.

The goals- In the 26th minute, Chinwendu Ihezuo finished off a cross from the left.- What a goal, 'Licha'! In the 33rd minute, Cervantes measured a lobbed pass from Franco and, without thinking twice, volleyed it into the top corner of the Tuzo goal.- In the 77th minute, Charlyn Corral scored the second goal for the home team.

The dangerous chances- In the 5th minute, Denise received a pass from the left from 'Caro' Jaramillo, cut inside and pulled the trigger from the edge of the box, but her shot went over the bar.- In the 9th minute, Dani Delgado and Licha Cervantes combined outside the area to leave La Depredadora one-on-one inside the area, but her right-footed shot went inches over the crossbar.- In the 64th minute, 'Licha' opened up for Montoya, who took her time to slow down and shoot with her left foot, but the goalkeeper stopped it with both hands.- In the 71st minute, Joseline Montoya arrived unmarked at the far post to finish off a pass from Denise on the left, but she failed to make good contact and the ball went wide.- In the 74th minute, 'Licha' and 'Viri' combined to leave Cervantes facing the goal; the 'Predator' shot, but Barreras saved it.
