Crystal Palace have stepped up their search for Oliver Glasner’s successor as his time at Selhurst Park comes to a close soon.

According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Palace have shortlisted Coventry City manager Frank Lampard and Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna for the job.

Palace have at least six candidates in their sights as they prepare for life after Glasner, who confirmed earlier this year that he will leave at the end of the season.

Initial approaches and background checks on potential replacements have already begun behind the scenes.

Lampard has become an increasingly admired figure within football circles following his impressive work in the Championship.

He guided his side to the title and has rebuilt his managerial reputation after some difficult spells.

While a move away currently appears unlikely given his club’s momentum, Palace are among several Premier League clubs monitoring his situation.

Any attempt to prise him away would likely require Palace to pay compensation in the region of £5 million.

McKenna is also highly regarded at Selhurst Park after continuing to enhance his reputation in the Championship.

Pep Guardiola has praised him for building a ‘special‘ team.

The Northern Irishman has previously attracted interest from Premier League clubs and is viewed as one of the brightest young managers in English football.

However, Palace would face a significant financial hurdle if they pursued the 39-year-old, with McKenna’s compensation package expected to exceed £8 million.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is admired by the Eagles, and discussions about him date back to January.

However, the Spaniard is currently assessing other opportunities, which have complicated Palace’s chances of securing him.

Managers will be more interested in the Palace role depending on how they conclude the campaign.

Victory in the Europa Conference League would secure European football next season, handing the club a larger transfer budget heading into a pivotal summer rebuild.
