Palestra ‘to be targeted’ by Newcastle and Inter as Manchester City stance unclear | OneFootball

Newcastle United are the latest club linked with Atalanta wing-back Palestra, alongside Inter and Arsenal, amid mixed signals over Manchester City.

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia have both connected City with the 21-year-old, who impressed on loan at Cagliari and featured for Italy’s senior side.

Mail Sport, however, claims City’s interest has cooled, while Newcastle are exploring a move and hopeful of adding another Italian after Sandro Tonali.

Inter are very keen but face a high asking price and are understood to need a sale of Denzel Dumfries before any deal.

An Atalanta academy product, Palestra turned 21 in March and can operate at right-back or further forward, including as part of a trident. He is not expected to remain in Bergamo after his Cagliari spell, with an asking price of at least €45m.
