Palhinha, Boey, Zaragoza: Bayern’s tough message to players on the trading block | OneFootball

At FC Bayern, squad planning is entering its decisive phase. While hardly any further signings are expected, sporting director Max Eberl has now made it unmistakably clear to three players that they no longer have a future in Munich.

With the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, Bayern has already achieved its most important transfer goals. Now, the club’s leadership is focusing on player departures. In particular, Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are expected to leave the record champions this summer.

Sports Director Max Eberl made it clear during Brown’s official presentation at Lake Tegernsee on Wednesday that the three players are no longer part of the club’s sporting plans.

Eberl sends a clear message

“With Sacha, Bryan, and Joao, we have three players whom we’re very open to letting go,” Eberl explained. The 52-year-old then used even stronger language: “There is no future for these three at FC Bayern. If any of them decides to stay here, it will be relatively difficult and complicated for him because he won’t play a major role.”

With this, the sporting director is sending an unmistakable signal to the three players slated for transfer. However, a move does not depend solely on the will of the players or FC Bayern. So far, no concrete transfer has materialized for any of the three players. Additionally, interested clubs must be willing to meet Munich’s transfer fee demands.

While there should be some movement on the outgoing front, Eberl otherwise considers squad planning to be complete. “Our squad is set,” emphasized the Bayern boss. He also commented on the numerous transfer rumors of the past few weeks with a smile: “I had to smile a lot this year at the names that were linked to us. It really amused me because there was absolutely zero truth to any of the names that were floating around.”

Eberl also specifically denied reports of interest in Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere. No further signings are planned following the imminent permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. Instead, full attention is now focused on sales—particularly those of Palhinha, Boey, and Zaragoza.
