Raffaele Palladino and Sergio Conceicao are viewed as the leading contenders to take over at Lazio, with Maurizio Sarri edging towards the exit. Il Messaggero reports that the club have started sounding out options.

Italian reports tip Antonio Conte to leave Napoli, a move expected to spark a domino effect. Sarri is seen as favourite for the Stadio Maradona job.

The 67-year-old is widely thought to be on his way after president Claudio Lotito recently stressed that nobody at the club is indispensable. Sarri has been offered a choice, either stay and accept Lotito’s transfer plan, or seek a new post.

He has made up his mind, but will not resign until an agreement with Napoli is secured. Further developments are expected in the coming days.

Palladino, 42, took charge of Atalanta last November. Atalanta are about to appoint Cristiano Giuntoli as sporting director, which could prompt a reset and leave him vulnerable. He impressed at Monza and Fiorentina and is rated among Serie A’s best young coaches.

Conceicao, 51, twice played for Lazio. He oversaw a successful stint at Porto from 2017 to 2024, then endured a difficult six months at Milan last season. He is under contract at Al-Ittihad until 2028, but the Saudi club could release him after a disappointing year.

Other mooted options include Sassuolo’s Fabio Grosso, Cagliari’s Fabio Pisacane, and Gennaro Gattuso, who is unattached after leaving the Italy job following another failed World Cup qualifying campaign.
