Palmeiras reconvened on Thursday morning at the Academia de Futebol after a 2-1 win over Botafogo at Allianz Parque on Wednesday in the seventh round, a result that returned them to the top of the Brasileiro on 16 points.
According to Nosso Palestra, the next assignment comes on Saturday at 21:00 against São Paulo in the eighth-round Choque-Rei.
Starters followed recovery and neuroscience work indoors, while the remaining players completed physical and technical drills on the pitch alongside academy youngsters. Forward Paulinho continued a tailored programme with the Health and Performance unit.
After training, forward Allan said he was delighted with his first Allianz Parque goal, even if it came in unusual fashion, and that the stadium feels like home. He thanked Andreas Pereira for the assist, said they shared a laugh, noted Andreas prefers laying on goals while he enjoyed scoring, and stressed that helping Palmeiras matters most.
Allan added that leading early in the campaign brings confidence, felt the side is well balanced and believes they can put together a strong season. Looking to São Paulo, he urged caution, noting two wins this year mean little and the focus is on working over the next two days to earn another victory.
Palmeiras enter the derby unbeaten in 11 against São Paulo since July 2023, with seven wins and four draws, the club’s longest sequence in the fixture. In the Brasileiro they are also eight without defeat against their rivals.
