Palmeiras cite Flamengo to taunt Corinthians after Paulista win | OneFootball

Palmeiras beat Corinthians 1-0 at the Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Paulista on Sunday. After the final whistle, Abel Ferreira’s side used social media to poke fun at their rivals by referencing Flamengo.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Palmeiras said they are now the club with the most wins at the Neo Química Arena, seven in total, moving ahead of Flamengo on six since the venue opened in 2014.

Flaco López scored the only goal late in the second half to settle the derby.

Meetings between Corinthians and Flamengo there have come in the Brasileirão and, at times, the Copa do Brasil. Flamengo have also eliminated Corinthians in São Paulo.

Filipe Luís’s team now turn to the next assignment, away to Vitória at the Barradão on Tuesday at 21:30 Brasília time in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
