Palmeiras are expected to move on Rômulo in the next transfer window, with the midfielder currently on loan at Novorizontino.

According to Globo.com, the club have set an asking price of US$ four million, roughly R$ 20 million at current rates. Rômulo was signed in 2024 for R$ 7.4 million.

There have been no formal bids so far. Série A sides are tracking him, as are clubs from smaller European markets and the United States.

Palmeiras have no preference over a potential destination, while the player views staying in Brazil favourably. The situation will be decided during the World Cup break.

The window opens on 20 July, giving the club and the player’s camp time to plan. Relations between the parties are good.

Rômulo came through União São João, Athletico and Matonense before joining Novorizontino’s youth ranks. He impressed after stepping up to the first team and was then bought by Palmeiras.

Limited chances led to loans to Ceará and then back to Novorizontino, where he has enjoyed his best spell. He helped them reach the Paulistão final against Palmeiras, but missed the first leg due to a clause carrying a R$ 1 million penalty.

This season he has seven goals and six assists in 21 matches. Novorizontino are seventh in Série B with 13 points and face Ceará on Saturday at 16:00 at Estádio Jorge Ismael de Biasi.
