Palmeiras have offers for Luighi and are close to finalising Facundo Torres’s move to Austin FC of the United States, steps intended to clear room for a marquee attacking signing.
According to Globo.com, the club have been in contact over Jhon Arias of Wolverhampton and Thiago Almada of Atlético de Madrid, with each move set to involve at least 20 million euros. Offloading two players would not ensure both arrivals, it is about reshaping the attack and enabling heavy spending early in 2026.
Palmeiras target 400 million reais in sales this year and have rejected bids for Flaco López, Vitor Roque and Allan. Napoli were ready to pay almost 220 million reais for Allan, which was declined. Player sales underpin a 1.2 billion reais budget for 2026.
Fluminense hold a purchase preference on Arias should he return to Brazil, and president Mattheus Montenegro is willing to exercise it. Wolverhampton bought 90 percent of his rights last year for 22 million euros, with Fluminense retaining 10 percent of a future sale. Wolverhampton are bottom of the Premier League, and Arias has two goals and one assist in 23 appearances.
Almada, a Brazilian and Libertadores champion with Botafogo, has featured less at Atlético, and there have been suggestions he could be sold to create room for other signings. The quoted figure is 20 million euros for 50 percent of his economic rights. The Brazilian transfer window is open until 3 March.
