According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras are preparing Vitor Roque to be fully fit for the Conmebol Libertadores last 16 against Cerro Porteño on 12 August.
The striker sustained a syndesmosis injury in his left ankle during the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase against Jacuipense at Allianz Parque. He underwent surgery on 1 May.
He is the only member of the squad training through the World Cup pause with a view to returning. The rest of the players are due back on 21 June.
The club’s Health and Performance staff are proceeding cautiously, since the injury directly affects joint stability. He is being reassessed daily.
The expectation is that he will be available to Abel Ferreira a few matches before the continental tie, to build minutes and improve his conditioning.
The number nine has shared updates of his rehabilitation on social media, showing indoor work at the club’s Football Academy.
