Palmeiras are working to close the gap to Botafogo’s valuation of Danilo after president Leila Pereira confirmed on Friday 17 that the club want the midfielder.
According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras have indicated they are prepared to pay €25 million. The board are now structuring add-ons, bonuses and payment terms to edge towards the €30 million sought by Botafogo.
Botafogo have signalled in talks that they want Danilo available for the Campeonato Brasileiro match against Cruzeiro on Sunday 26. The midfielder is due back on Monday 20 after leave following the World Cup, and will undergo tests before training through the week.
If he features against Cruzeiro, the academy graduate would reach 13 league appearances, which would prevent a move to Palmeiras. As a result, the parties see a need for progress this week.
Palmeiras’ salary proposal for Danilo is said to be higher than Zenit of Russia’s, with a five-season contract indicated. Including players in the deal is currently off the table, with Botafogo not convinced Palmeiras’ available options would strengthen them now.
