Palmeiras have increased their offer for Danilo to €28 million, €25 million guaranteed plus €3 million in add-ons, and are awaiting Botafogo’s response, according to Globo.com.

From Palmeiras’ perspective, the decision now rests with Botafogo over a domestic sale. The club still seek €30 million and have named the midfielder in Thursday’s match against Vitória, with talks on the bid planned for Wednesday night.

Talks began before the World Cup, with substantial figures and structures discussed, including a package of R$120 million plus defender Naves. Botafogo had pursued Naves in 2025, but he later joined Necaxa of Mexico.

Throughout, Palmeiras kept regular contact with the player’s camp and Botafogo. Club president Leila Pereira said sporting director Anderson Barros has spoken almost daily and believes the player wants to return home and join Palmeiras, while any move depends on Botafogo.

Despite the improved numbers, Palmeiras understand Botafogo remain hesitant about selling to another Brazilian side.

Before the tournament, Botafogo hoped a World Cup uplift could push the fee to about €40 million, a level Palmeiras deemed unfeasible. After limited minutes for Brazil, the asking price moved to €30-35 million.

Palmeiras consider Danilo their sole target for this window and the remainder of 2026.
