Palmeiras have rejected two offers from Premier League clubs for 16-year-old forward Eduardo Conceição, and are not entertaining talks.
"There is also a boy from our academy, Eduardo, 16, who will now play the South American Under-17 with Brazil. We have already received two offers of 20 to 25 million euros, excluding bonuses," academy director João Paulo Sampaio said. He told ESPN that the English clubs were not named.
The club’s stance is to develop the teenager further before considering a sale. With Abel Ferreira’s backing, prospects are promoted to the first team to gain experience and build connection with supporters.
Palmeiras intend to follow a model similar to recent academy departures such as Endrick and Estêvão. Internally, they see Eduardo as having the potential to reach at least that level, and he looks up to both.
Eduardo says Palmeiras has been his home since the age of nine, that he is grateful, prefers to ignore outside noise and is focused on the club. He adds that he is still in his final Under-17 year and wants to win titles and follow the path of academy graduates.
The winger, 1.80m tall and notable for his dribbling, was the club’s youngest player at the Copinha and impressed during the tournament. He is currently with Brazil’s Under-17s for the South American Championship. His contract runs to January 2029 with a 100 million euro release clause.
