Palmeiras have set out plans to sell academy centre-back Naves on a permanent basis after his loan at Alverca. He came through the club’s ranks but did not enjoy a long run under Abel Ferreira. According to Nosso Palestra, he will not return to the club when the agreement ends.
Palmeiras have indicated they will open talks at between €five million, R$29 million at the current rate, and €six million, about R$35 million.
He moved to Alverca in mid 2025 on loan until July 2026. The player and his representatives do not wish to return, preferring to continue in European football.
Italian and Portuguese sides have made enquiries ahead of the next transfer window. Naves and his camp view a move positively, given the style of play and a step into a more competitive league.
Alverca cannot buy him outright. This season he has played 32 matches and scored three goals, and has been among the team’s captains. Alverca sit 10th in the Portuguese league.
