Palmeiras are overhauling the stadium’s visual identity during the World Cup pause, after the club and WTorre formalised a switch from Allianz Parque to Nubank Parque on Thursday.

According to Globo.com, the definitive change came two months after the agreement was signed, and Allianz Parque signage had already been removed inside and out.

The main sticking point is Nubank’s plan for a versatile LED screen that could adapt to matches or concerts, which São Paulo City Hall has not authorised.

Two attempts to secure an exemption from the Clean City Law, Law 14.223/2006, have failed, and Nubank and WTorre have not given up but are considering a standard sign as a fallback.

City authorities have rejected a request to reconsider an LED panel on the stadium facade, citing the Clean City Law, its regulatory decree and a 2018 SMUL resolution. These rules prohibit luminous electronic panels on external facades, permitting them only in enclosed internal areas.

Elsewhere, alterations will be minimal, limited to areas that carried the previous naming-rights branding.

The delivery timetable is unchanged. Nubank and WTorre aim to complete the rebrand before competitions resume, with the World Cup pause ending on 20 July.

The Nubank Parque concert diary is busy, but Palmeiras are only expected to play their first official match under the new name on 26 July, against Atlético-MG in the Brazilian Championship.
