Palmeiras submit €25m bid for Arias, Flamengo target | OneFootball

Following Flamengo’s big-money move for Lucas Paquetá, Palmeiras have submitted a €25 million bid to sign Wolverhampton midfielder Jhon Arias, a player who was on Flamengo’s radar.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Wolves were encouraged by the offer and Palmeiras now await the player’s decision.

Arias has not matched his Fluminense form in England, and the English club are open to a departure in this transfer window. If the deal is completed, they would move into the market for a replacement.

Arias featured on Flamengo’s shortlist earlier in the window, but the Rio side did not lodge an official offer to the English club.

Flamengo completed a record Brazilian deal for Lucas Paquetá at around R$260 million, and also added Vitão and Andrew.

They now chase a first Brasileirão win against Internacional at the Maracanã on Wednesday the fourth at 19:00 Brasília time. The match will be broadcast on Premiere pay-per-view.
