Palmeiras win 27th Paulista title to close in on Corinthians | OneFootball

Palmeiras clinched their 27th Campeonato Paulista title on Sunday, Abel Ferreira's side beating Novorizontino 2-1 at Estádio Jorge Ismael de Biasi.

According to Globo.com, they had already won the first leg 1-0 at Arena Crefisa Barueri.

The club returns to state glory after their push for a fourth successive crown was halted last year when they finished runners-up. They had lifted the trophy in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

With 27 Paulista titles, Palmeiras close in on rivals Corinthians, the competition's record winners with 31. Santos and São Paulo have 22 each.

Paulistano, dominant in the early 20th century, have 11, their last in 1929. Only three interior clubs have lifted the title, Ituano in 2002 and 2014, Internacional de Limeira in 1986 and Bragantino in 1990.

Albion in 1933 and Juventus in 1934 had their titles recognised by the Federação Paulista only in 2021. At the time there were two leagues, APEA for professional clubs and FPF, amateur and won by those two clubs.
