Leonardo Pantaleão, chair of Corinthians’ Ethics and Discipline Committee, has sent a dispatch to president Osmar Stabile asking him to clarify a recent comment linking club councillors to contracts.

The move follows Stabile’s early June interview with TMC, in which he suggested every councillor carried a contract, unsettling figures at Parque São Jorge. Central do Timão reports that Pantaleão has formally sought clarification.

The document says the breadth of Stabile’s wording raised doubts about possible direct or indirect contractual ties between councillors and the club, and about any impact such links might have on councillors’ statutory duties.

Pantaleão asks for the context, intended meaning and scope of the remark, whether it referred to identifiable cases or was generic, and, if based on facts, which councillors, individuals or companies were involved, which contracts were meant and their objects, terms and values, whether they are current or closed, any conflicts of interest identified, and any other relevant details.

The committee notes the step carries no prior judgment and is purely informational, to assess potential institutional effects. Stabile has up to five days from receipt to respond.

This is the fourth recent episode involving Stabile and the committee. In March he sought the removal of Romeu Tuma Júnior from the committee presidency over alleged threats, a case now stalled after videos requested twice in writing were not sent. In April and June, impeachment petitions alleged irregular use of Parque São Jorge as collateral in a deal with the Procuradoria Geral da Fazenda Nacional and possible issues in security contracting, both still under internal review.
