Paraag Marathe ‘to leave’ San Francisco 49ers to focus on Leeds United and Rangers | OneFootball

ESPN reports that Paraag Marathe is leaving the San Francisco 49ers to focus full time on Leeds United and Rangers, as well as other sports efforts.

The Leeds United chairman is the 49ers' executive vice president of football operations and has spent 25 years with the franchise.

Team owner Jed York informed staff of the move in an email on Saturday, the report said. The 49ers remain invested in both clubs as Marathe shifts his focus.

After discussions with UEFA about multi-club ownership rules, Marathe stepped down as Rangers vice-chairman earlier this year. He remains closely involved with the Ibrox club.

General manager John Lynch described Marathe as a great friend with a significant imprint on the organisation, and said the team were indebted to him. He added that Marathe would still be around, though his focus would be elsewhere.
