Corinthians return from the World Cup break on Thursday, hosting Remo at Neo Química Arena at 19:30 in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with Paraná referee Lucas Casagrande appointed.

It will be only Casagrande's second Corinthians match, the first came in 2025, a 2-1 defeat to Juventude at Estádio Alfredo Jaconi. According to Meu Timao, he sent off Ángel Romero for aggressive conduct after a VAR review for a shove, and booked four Corinthians players on the pitch and one on the bench, plus seven Juventude players and the club's masseur.

Casagrande resumed in 2026 after a brief spell out late last year following controversy in Grêmio v Bragantino in the 27th round, when he sent off defender Kanneman for alleged aggression, a decision that angered the club and drew media criticism.

This year he has handled 19 CBF fixtures across the Copa do Brasil and the Brasileirão's Série A and Série B, as well as six games in the Campeonato Paranaense, including the final between Operário and Londrina.

His team for the game features assistants Guilherme Dias Camilo and Rafael Trombeta, with Alisson Sidnei Furtado as fourth official and Charly Wendy Straub Deretti in charge of VAR.

Corinthians beat Grêmio 3-1 before the pause, a result that pulled them away from the relegation zone and closer to the competition's G8.
