Paris FC’s home form stalls again amid pressure and errors

Paris FC drew 0-0 with Angers, dropping two more home points, 18 lost from 27. According to L'Équipe, the display concerned more than the tally, although defeats for Nantes, Auxerre and Metz in the 19th round offered a cushion.

It was a third straight subdued home showing after 1-1 with Auxerre and 0-3 against Toulouse late last year.

Coach Stéphane Gilli said his side lacked intensity, rhythm and runs in the first half, and never unsettled Angers. He saw a slight uptick after the break, but it was still short.

He struggled to explain it, citing physical and mental fatigue after three matches, PSG in league and cup, 1-2 and 1-0, and Nantes, 2-1. He added the plan was not executed despite efforts to recover.

PFC aimed to start fast for the first 10-15 minutes, but failed. Gilli said they need more spontaneity, quicker crosses and greater risk, and that the reasons will be reviewed. He was unsure about a mental block, but starts must change.

Home form jars after a promising start, though PFC looked more assured away at Nantes last weekend. They have not won at home since 3 October, 2-0 against Lorient, a six-match run of three defeats and three draws.

Their last strong home display was against Rennes on 7 November, a 0-1 loss to a late goal. Marseille visit next Saturday. PFC have shown they can trouble bigger sides, as against PSG, and a back five since the start of 2026 has stiffened the defence.
