Patrice Motsepe calls Abdoulaye Fall after Morocco awarded 3-0 AFCON final win | OneFootball

CAF president Patrice Motsepe has called his Senegalese counterpart Abdoulaye Fall in a bid to ease tensions after Morocco were awarded a 3-0 AFCON final win over Senegal.

According to L'Équipe, Motsepe told the head of the Senegalese federation he had no part in the appeals jury’s decision, and the conversation was courteous.

Caught up in the fallout, Motsepe stressed that within CAF no country stands above another.

The South African is keen not to appear as if he influenced the ruling.

He has, in effect, had to accept the sanction and is only now confronting its consequences.
