Patrick Wimmer ‘set to join’ Hoffenheim from Wolfsburg | OneFootball

Sky Germany reports that Hoffenheim are poised to sign Wolfsburg winger Patrick Wimmer, ending his four-year spell at the Volkswagen Arena.

A full agreement is in place and the 25-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of the switch.

Hoffenheim informed Wolfsburg on Monday that they would activate the €10 million release clause in Wimmer’s contract, which became active following Wolfsburg’s relegation.

If everything goes to plan, Wimmer will sign a long-term deal running until 2031.

Brighton & Hove Albion were also linked with the winger, but indications are Hoffenheim have won the race, with no late attempt from the Premier League club to hijack the move.
