Paul Scholes vigorously believes Manchester United are in need of a major overhaul, so he’s asking INEOS to sell at least eight players.
The Red Devils currently sit in a calamitous 13th place in the Premier League, so it goes without saying that the squad is in need of an overall revamp. But while the club’s supporters wouldn’t mind seeing the backs of the majority of their current first-team players, offloading the entire squad remains unplausible.
Therefore, the falling giants must be selective when it comes to parting ways with their players, with each fan and observer coming up with their own list of departees.
For his part, Scholes hardly minced his words when being interrogated by TNT Sports in a classic ‘Keep or Sell’ game, going for the ‘sell’ option more often than not. The legendary midfielder was asked about 11 players, and he wants eight of them gone.

While the majority of his choices would resonate with the average fan (like selling Casemiro and injury-prone Luke Shaw and Mason Mount), his call to send Matthijs de Ligt packing stunned some of the Man Utd supporters on social media, especially since he opted to keep Andre Onana who has been atrocious in some of his recent outings.
“Keep Onana but sell De Ligt?! What’s he smoking, he’s been out best CB,” said one Instagram user in the comment section.
“Sell De Ligt??? Smoke less please,” joked another.
Scholes’ exodus list also includes summer signing Joshua Zirkzee, defender Lisandro Martinez, struggling veteran Casemiro, as well as the obvious choices Antony and Marcus Rashford.
On the other hand, the Man Utd icon would like to keep young guns Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho who remain two of the club’s lowest earners.
