Paulo Henrique says overseas interest will not distract him, insisting his focus is 100% on Vasco and the Copa do Brasil after a 2-1 comeback win over Fluminense in the semi-final first leg.

According to PaponaColina, the right-back, named in Carlo Ancelotti’s last two Brazil squads, said external enquiries would not affect him and that matters beyond the pitch are for others to handle.

Asked about staying through 2026, he pointed out he has extended his contract until the end of 2028 and stressed he is happy at the Cruz-Maltino, leaving off-field decisions to his representatives and the club while focusing on results.

Voted the best right-back in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Paulo Henrique has made 57 appearances this season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists.

Vasco return on Sunday at 20:30, again at the Maracanã, for the decisive second leg against Fluminense.

With the advantage of a draw, Fernando Diniz’s side are chasing a place in the final, scheduled for 17 and 21 December, against the winner of Corinthians v Cruzeiro.
